Come Walk With Me

Last fall I met up with Michael Willis, developer of the Dragonfly Reverb plugins, to record a song he wrote. Michael had already programmed half of the song in midi tracks and recorded the clarinet intro, so I added the guitar and bass parts. A few weeks later we met again and finished these tracks to the end of the song, including the clarinet solo.

For the last few months I have been listening to our instrumental mixdown from this second session and really enjoying it. The song has a nice swing feel and a gentle mood. Using a guitar, piano, glockenspiel, and clarinet together is something that probably would have never occurred to me, but the combination really works.

Last week Michael released version 3.0 of Dragonfly Reverb, which includes the new Plate Reverb and Early Reflections plugins that I am excited to use. Having finished this project (for now), he turned his attention back to the song and recorded his wife Julie on the vocals. Now I can finally share the song with you:

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
